by Michael Debrincat, Patient Perspectives To Self Medication Community Pharmacy Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Patient Perspectives To Self Medication Community Pharmacy books, This book tries to determine patients’ perspectives regarding OTC medication, analyses incidence of irresponsible medication, and shows reasons for predisposing factors as well. Three quarter of the participants in this study were knowledgeable about the potential for abuse of some OTC drugs and most named analgesics as the most liable for abuse. Almost one third of the participants came across cases of OTC abuse. Participants were positive towards the health care being provided by their local pharmacy. They felt that pharmacists play an important role in providing advice on OTC medicines use. The OTC drug abuse problem needs to be tackled urgently as shown by the number of participants witnessing such abuse. Patients with higher managerial, administrative and professional occupations were more likely to follow the directions on the packet. Patients with manual occupations were more likely to seek the advice of a pharmacist rather than a doctor if a given OTC product did not work within a recommended time period.

by Jochen Pfeifer, German Community Pharmacists Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format.

The authors show you how to apply economic, business, and societal models to better understand it, and they look at the trends in healthcare that drive it. Vignettes and interviews are the real strength of this book, bringing you the insights of selected pharmacists who were among the first to develop pharmaceutical care services. The pharmacists you meet in this book are committed to providing the best patient care possible and are willing to expend considerable personal time and energy to achieve this goal. Through their interviews, you will follow the pharmacists down their path of passionate commitment to helping patients. The authors also outline a seven-step process demonstrating how these professionals built innovative pharmacy practices in community settings. Pharmaceutical Care is a motivating resource for those wishing to better understand the new patient-centered roles being advocated by pharmacy leaders.
