by Herman Kruegle, Cctv Surveillance Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Cctv Surveillance books, The past decade has seen closed circuit television (CCTV) technology emerge as a distinct entity within the large and developing security industry. Its successful implementation requires understanding of many technical disciplines, all of which are detailed in this book. From scene illumination, to signal transmission, to display and recording technology, CCTV Surveillance is the only book available which teaches all the aspects of CCTV. CCTV has become the crucial ingredient in the overall security system. Just as the proverb 'a picture is worth a thousand words' applies in everyday life, so too does the CCTV picture provide the essential ingredient to the successful security system. CCTV Surveillance is written in a format useful to the student interested in security, the system designer, consultant, architect and engineer, as well as the end user-management or the security director. The book covers CCTV from theory to equipment to application, from light source to final monitoring, recording and printing - and everything in between. Much of the design theory is written in generic form and is applicable to all forms of CCTV use. Specific subjects covered include: the need for CCTV, the safety/security scenario, cover cameras transmission, monitors, switchers, camera housing, recorders, printers, image intensifiers and accessories. Each chapter begins with an overview of the subject for the manager and security director, and proceeds with the theory, design and hardware information essential for successful implementation. All chapters are well illustrated - diagrams, tables, photographs to provide complete information for all reader categories. The applications chapter provides seven practical examples with layouts, schematics and a bill of materials (BOM) for the complete CCTV systems. A comprehensive glossary defines terms generic to CCTV and electro-optics and aids to understand the subject. A complete reference on CCTV technology. Gives practical advice on the proper uses of CCTV to best protect against crime. Contains more than 100 photos of the most modern equipment available.

Eyes Everywhere PDF Full

by Aaron Doyle, Eyes Everywhere Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Eyes Everywhere books, In many countries camera surveillance has become commonplace, and ordinary citizens and consumers are increasingly aware that they are under surveillance in everyday life. Camera surveillance is typically perceived as the archetype of contemporary surveillance technologies and processes. While there is sometimes fierce debate about their introduction, many others take the cameras for granted or even applaud their deployment. Yet what the presence of surveillance cameras actually achieves is still very much in question. International evidence shows that they have very little effect in deterring crime and in 'making people feel safer’, but they do serve to place certain groups under greater official scrutiny and to extend the reach of today’s ‘surveillance society’. Eyes Everywhere provides the first international perspective on the development of camera surveillance. It scrutinizes the quiet but massive expansion of camera surveillance around the world in recent years, focusing especially on Canada, the UK and the USA but also including less-debated but important contexts such as Brazil, China, Japan, Mexico, South Africa and Turkey. Containing both broad overviews and illuminating case-studies, including cameras in taxi-cabs and at mega-events such as the Olympics, the book offers a valuable oversight on the status of camera surveillance in the second decade of the twenty-first century. The book will be fascinating reading for students and scholars of camera surveillance as well as policy makers and practitioners from the police, chambers of commerce, private security firms and privacy- and data-protection agencies.

Camera Positioning And Calibration Techniques For Integrating Traffic Surveillance Video Systems With Machine Vision Vehicle Detection Devices PDF Full

by Brian L. Smith, Camera Positioning And Calibration Techniques For Integrating Traffic Surveillance Video Systems With Machine Vision Vehicle Detection Devices Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Camera Positioning And Calibration Techniques For Integrating Traffic Surveillance Video Systems With Machine Vision Vehicle Detection Devices books, The Virginia Department of Transportation, like many other transportation agencies, has invested significantly in extensive closed circuit television (CCTV) systems to monitor freeways in urban areas. Although these systems have proven very effective in supporting incident management, they do not support the collection of quantitative measures of traffic conditions. Rather, they simply provide a moveable platform for trained operators to collect images for further interpretation. Although there are several video image vehicle detection systems (VIVDS) on the market that have the capability to derive traffic measures from video imagery automatically, these systems currently require the installation of fixed-position cameras. Thus, they have not been integrated with the existing moveable CCTV cameras. This research effort addressed VIVDS camera repositioning and calibration challenges and developed a prototype machine-vision system that successfully integrates existing moveable CCTV cameras with VIVDS. Results of testing the prototype in a laboratory setting demonstrated that when the camera's original zoom level was at a level of 1x to 1.5x, the system could return the camera to its original position with a repositioning accuracy of less than 0.03 to0.1 degree. This is significantly less that the 0.5-degree accuracy of mechanical camera presets and indicates that such an approach provides the accuracy needed for CCTV/VIVDS integration. This level of positional accuracy, when combined with a VIVDS, resulted in vehicle count errors of less than 1%. Based on these results, the integration of CCTV and VIVDS is feasible, thus paving the way for less costly, more easily maintained traffic monitoring systems in future intelligent transportation system initiatives.
